Two people died in the crash of an ultra light plane near the village of Voksice, east Bohemia area of the Czech Republic, the Czech news agency CTK said on June 9.
"During the flight the plane went into a spin for unknown reasons and the pilots failed to level it off. No other persons have been injured during the accident," the spokeswoman said.
Originally, firefighters reported that the other man who suffered severe injuries survived. However, Jicin police spokeswoman later told CTK that he succumbed to his injuries.
The chairman of the Jicin aeroclub situated on the airport in Voksice declined to comment on the tragic accident.
The Jicin aeroclub located about two kilometres from Jicin offers aviation training and recreation flights.
The Czech firefighters are called to tragic crashes of ultra light planes several times a year.
For instance, an ultra light plane crashed in the Znojmo, south Moravia area this April. When the plane hit the ground it went on fire and the pilot burnt to death.
In October 2007, a student pilot was killed when a paraglider he was flying fell to the ground and his instructor died from injuries later in hospital.
