Going forward, you'll have no shortage of options when it comes to in-flight entertainment on United Airlines.
The carrier is now offering free DIRECTV live TV on more than 200 of its Boeing 737 planes, the airline announced Wednesday morning, ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
DIRECTV used to cost $5.99 on United flights shorter than two hours, and $7.99 on flights exceeding two hours.
United is hardly the first airline to offer free live TV on flights. American, JetBlue, Southwest and Delta have offered such an option.
United also updated its accessible entertainment capabilities, now putting entertainment titles with closed captioning options in a specific menu. It has more than 50 movies and TV shows that feature English closed captioning, plus 20 audio descriptive movies and TV shows.
