Spring Airlines, China' largest low-cost carrier based in Shanghai, China signed an agreement with Airbus to benefit from the manufacturer's cloud-based platform Skywise Core. Spring Airlines currently operates an all Airbus A320 fleet with over 80 aircraft.
By using Skywise Core, Spring Airlines will be able to integrate its own operational, maintenance, and aircraft data into the Skywise cloud, so it can store, access, manage, and analyse selected Airbus data together with its own data and global benchmarks without the need for additional infrastructure investments. This resulting value will provide new insights at aircraft, fleet, company, and global levels while allowing the operator to enhance its operations through access to OEM expertise and global fleet context.
Skywise is an enterprise data platform driving digital collaboration across the aerospace value chain. It accelerates digitalisation in aviation by providing players across the sectors with the data and capabilities they need to make better decisions.
The platform captures information from all upstream processes, including design, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance support. This will allow Spring airlines to tap into Airbus expertise accrued over time. This data would provide immediate value for Spring airlines' independent maintenance and other operations, and beyond that, Airbus will assist in complex decoding (including sensor data) and support in-service decisions for the airlines.
The agreement between Spring Airlines and Airbus is an important step in the growth of Skywise in China. As the first Chinese mainland airline on Skywise, Spring and Airbus will work closely together to develop and demonstrate new data-driven applications for aviation.
