Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 to Host ACI World/Latin America-Caribbean Annual Assembly in 2020

As the 29th Airport Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific/World Annual General Assembly, Conference and Exhibition drew to a successful conclusion today, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 announced that it will be the host for the 2020 ACI Latin America-Caribbean/World Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition.
"The success of ACI's annual conference illustrates that we in the aviation industry are committed to forging partnerships across the world and working together towards a sustainable future," ACI World Director General Angela Gittens said as she addressed delegates at the conference's closing reception. "We have gained many insights from the forums, sessions and networking events, and we are confident in moving forward as a united industry. For this, I thank our speakers, delegates, the ACI World and ACI Asia-Pacific teams, and our host, Hong Kong International Airport.
"We are also excited to start working with our next host, Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, looking ahead to our next annual General Assembly, Congress and Exhibition in Latin America and Caribbean."
At the handover ceremony, it was officially announced that Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 would be the host of next year's annual conference which is expected to attract more than 800 airport and industry leaders from around the world in November 2020 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The event will continue to include exhibitions and conferences for aviation professionals to network, exchange insights and receive updates on the latest industry trends.
President Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, CEO Corporación América Airports, and ACI World Chair Martin Eurnekian said delegates at next year's event will make key decisions, discuss important issues and assess future prospects.
"On behalf of Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, I am excited to be the next host of the ACI World/Latin America and Caribbean Annual General Assembly, Conferences and Exhibition," he said.
"Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 operates 35 airports in Argentina and is part of Corporación America Airports (CAAP) which operates 52 airports in seven countries across Latin America and Europe. With 81.3 million passengers using our airports in 2018, we have broad expertise on the region's diverse needs and challenges. "Buenos Aires, Argentina is the perfect location for our gathering. Growth in the country's air traffic, in particular, has shown no signs of slowing down in recent years. Argentina's airports are the fastest-growing airports in South America for passenger traffic, having achieved 13.9% year-over-year growth in 2017."
