BiH's Major Airport Records Huge Increase in Passenger Number in Jan.-April Period

Banja Luka Airport of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) recorded a huge increase in the number of passengers in the first four months this year, in comparison to the same period last year, the airport's press statement said at the weekend.
According to the statement, from January to April this year, the airport, located some 235 km northwest of BiH's capital Sarajevo, recorded 39,376 passengers, more than that of the whole year 2018 when the airport welcomed 36,180 passengers.
"In the first four months of this year, there were 39,376 passengers compared to a total of 4,870 passengers in the same period of last year, increased by 708.5 percent," the airport statement said on Saturday.
Since the end of October last year to April this year, three new direct flights from Banja Luka, the second largest city of BiH, to Swedish capital Stockholm, Belgian capital Brussels and Memmingen of Germany, have been launched.
Currently, Banja Luka airport is connected with Berlin, Belgrade, Brussels, Memmingen and Stockholm.
