President of Russia Congratulates Sheremetyevo Airport on 60th

On 11 August 2019, Sheremetyevo International Airport celebrated its anniversary. It was on this day 60 years ago that the first flight from Leningrad was served here.
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin addressed current and retired employees of Sheremetyevo International Airport, stressing that "over the past years, the airport has made an invaluable contribution to the development of domestic commercial aviation; as one of the recognized leaders in passenger and cargo transportation, it bolstered the country's international prestige." The President recognized the significant contribution of Sheremetyevo to welcoming guests and participants of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as the World Cup and other massive international events hosted by our country. "Behind such impressive success lies a great body of hard, well-coordinated work by many generations and dynasties of airport employees, true professionals sincerely committed to their work," the President indicated in his congratulatory telegram.
The list of those who extended their congratulations to the airport's staff and veteran employees to honor the significant event included: Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation; Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; Yevgeny Dietrich, Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation; Alexander Neradko, Head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport; and others.
In his congratulatory telegram, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that today's Sheremetyevo International Airport is marked by state-of-the-art infrastructure, smart terminals, a wide range of services, reliability, and safety. The Prime Minister noted "the merits of the Sheremetyevo airport's professional staff, always taking their duties responsibly, fully investing their strength, knowledge, experience, and energy into the implementation of crucial projects."
Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia warmly congratulated the employees of Sheremetyevo. The Patriarch indicated that the Sheremetyevo team has always been distinguished by its supreme professionalism and determination. "I would like to extend my gratitude to the airport's staff for their willing and friendly cooperation with the Russian Orthodox Church," the Patriarch said in his message.
Yevgeny Dietrich, Minister of Transport, sent his congratulations to the employees of SIA JSC on the airport's 60th anniversary. "These days, Sheremetyevo is recognized by leading independent assessors as one of the most convenient and punctual airports in the world. Its efficiency depends on the well-coordinated, highly skilled work of your thousands-strong team. Thanks to your efforts, the airport is continuously developing. Being a part of such a powerful and creative team is a great honor and at the same time a massive responsibility, as the Sheremetyevo airport is an integral part of Russia's transport system, as well as the backbone enterprise of the Moscow region," said the Minister of Transport in his address.
Alexander Neradko, Head of the Federal Agency for Air Transport, stressed the following in his congratulatory note: 'Particularly praiseworthy is the work of the airport's veteran employees who laid the foundation for the highly professional team capable of finding perfect solutions to complex, challenging tasks."
