China Civil Aviation Security Technology Expo 2019 Held in Shenzhen

The China Civil Aviation Security Technology Expo 2019 featuring the theme of "New Security, New Technologies" was held in Shenzhen on August 29-30. The Expo was designed to implement the Civil Aviation Administration of China's (CAAC) strategic goal of boosting aviation security through technologies, comprehensively demonstrate the technological innovations and achievements in aviation security area in recent years, and also present itself as a gift to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Nearly 800 professionals from International Air Transport Association, CAAC departments, airports, airlines, aviation and public security research institutes, airport design and construction firms, and technological companies attended the event. Expert seminars and discussion sessions focusing on aviation security technological innovations were also held during the event.
The Expo was organized by China Civil Airport Association and Shenzhen Safety and Security Industry Association in partnership with Shenzhen Airport Group, China Air Transport Association, China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology, Shenzhen Drone Association, China Airport (Beijing) Education Technology Company and Shenzhen Smart Transportation Industry Association.
In recent years, the civil aviation authority has been committed to driving forward technological innovations and transforming the civil aviation security model through technologies and IT. It integrated technologies, intelligence and information-oriented thinking into the aviation security work, greatly enhancing the aviation security level. The Expo site covered an area of 20,000 square meters, and over 50 enterprises demonstrated their technological applications, equipment, system platforms, solutions and case results in aviation security field, including facial recognition, electronic boarding certificate, cabin online video monitoring system based on ground-to-air wireless broadband system, and whole-process self-service customs clearance at airport, which enabled attendees to have the opportunity to feel and experience these hi-tech civil aviation security achievements at the site.
At the Expo, the organizers also organized dedicated forums where decision-makers, scientific research teams, buyers and suppliers from governmental agencies, airports, airlines, security equipment manufacturers, hi-tech companies and research institutes could conduct in-depth dialogues. Speakers and industry experts carried out insightful discussions around seven industry hot topics, including smart safety building and security big data practice, a safe, efficient and multi-layer aviation security system, exploration of new aviation security processes, airports' needs in preventing drones against the backdrop of rapidly evolving technologies, and e-security. The forums also invited speakers from new technology enterprises including Huawei, Hikvision, Tecent, Ping An Technology and Nuctech to deliver speeches.
With an aim to build an expert team in the area of aviation security technology and information and foster partnerships, appointment ceremony for the first batch of experts in the area of aviation security and signing ceremony for new media alliance in the area of aviation security were also held during the Expo.
