Pulkovo Airport Increases Passenger Traffic by 8.1% for the 9 Months of 2019

In January-September 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport welcomed 15,150,183 passengers, which is 8.1% more than in the same period of 2018.
The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 10.2% to 9,179,516 passengers. International traffic increased by 5% and amounted to 5,970,667 passengers.
In January-September 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 129,048 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 2.5% year-on-year.

In January-September 2019, Rossiya Airlines, Aeroflot, Pobeda, S7 Airlines, and Ural Airlines, were the largest Russian carriers in terms of passenger numbers at Pulkovo. In total, they provided services to 9,120,376 passengers at St. Petersburg airport or 60.2% of the total traffic for that period. Among foreign airlines, Lufthansa, Uzbekistan Airways, Belavia, Turkish Airlines, and Finnair, became the leaders at Pulkovo Airport for the 9-month period of 2019. In total, they handled 1,076,533 passengers at St. Petersburg airport or 7.1% of the airport traffic in January-September 2019.
Pulkovo Airport Operational Results for September 2019
In September 2019, 1,954,843 passengers traveled through Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, a number 5% higher than in the same month of 2018.
The number of passengers on domestic flights grew by 4.6% to 1,102,297 passengers. International traffic increased by 5.5% and amounted to 852,546 passengers.
In September 2019, Pulkovo Airport handled 15,592 take-off and landing operations, which is an increase of 1.5% year-on-year.

Among foreign airlines, the leaders were Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, Belavia, Uzbekistan Airways, and Finnair. In total, they handled 144,387 passengers at Pulkovo or 7.4% of the airport traffic in September 2019.
In September 2019, Pulkovo Airport welcomed the most technologically advanced passenger aircraft Airbus A350-900 Sichuan Airlines for the first time in the history of St. Petersburg. A new walkthrough Duty Paid store was launched in the domestic departures hall.
Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport is the fourth airport in Russia in terms of passenger numbers. In 2019, St. Petersburg airport, for the fourth year in a row, became the winner of the national 'Air Gates of Russia' award, according to the passengers' votes. Since 2010, Northern Capital Gateway LLC has been the main operator of Pulkovo implementing the airport reconstruction and development project under the public-private partnership agreement with the city St. Petersburg.
