Yunnan Airport Group Plans to Open 59 New Services in 2019-2020 Winter Schedule

Yunnan Airport Group (YAG) announced the 2019-2020 winter schedule in the press conference held in Kunming on October 17th 2019 together with its seven base airlines and Colorful Yunnan General Aviation Co., Ltd.. After October 27th 2019, all airlines will switch to winter schedule, which will be valid until March 28th 2020. There were over 200 people, including delegates from provincial and municipal transportation and commercial authorities, cultural and tourism departments, domestic and foreign airlines, and several travel agencies attending the meeting.
YAG manages 15 airports in tourist cities in Yunnan province, which are easily reached from the major cities in China and aboard. Seven base airlines including China Eastern Airlines, Lucy Air, China Southern Airlines, Kunming Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Ruili Airlines and Air Travel (Hongtu Airlines) introduced their new routes in winter schedule during the conference.
In the new schedule, YAG will add 783 slots, 59 routes and 36 new destinations. Yunnan with its extraordinary mix of cultures and the splendor landscapes becomes the trendiest destination in China, attracting millions of visitors every year especially in the winter/spring season. The development of air transportation industry makes travel here easier than ever and thrives the tourism not only by bringing the foreigners to the cities but also building the path for the locals to embrace the world.
YAG endeavors to advance its connections and route network in recent years. The hub-and-spoke structure connects core airport, Kunming airport, with several secondary airport like Lijiang, Xishuangbanna and other local airports.
Now, YAG has 529 services, one-fifth of which are bound for international destinations. The international traffic increases by 15% year-over-year, accounting for 11.5% of total passengers. Besides, the international transit passengers account for 23% of the total traffic. As one of the top 100 airports in the world, Kunming airport's connections, passenger and cargo traffic are expected to set new records by 2020.
