Emirates Opens Newly Refurbished Airport Lounge in Shanghai

Emirates recently officially unveiled its newly refurbished airport lounge at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, offering refreshed levels of comfort, hospitality and convenience to Emirates First and Business Class customers as well as Platinum and Gold members of the airline's loyalty programme, Skywards.
Located in Terminal 2 (International departures) and situated next to Gate 75, Emirates was the first airline to offer the exclusive lounge in the terminal, launched in 2010. It is also one of lounges in the airport that offers an extensive menu of complimentary hot and cold gourmet dishes, as well as a full beverage service.
Adam Li, Vice President- China, Emirates Airline, said: "This year marks the 15th anniversary of Emirates' operations in mainland China and we find it is fitting to provide a new and improved experience to our premium customers travelling out of Shanghai. The refurbishment of the Emirates Lounge reinforces our ongoing commitment to the Chinese market, ushering in a new era in our operations, with more than 210,000 customers enjoying the facilities annually."

The 860 square-meter lounge, with a seating capacity of 174 passengers at any one time, is decorated with the distinctive signature touches seen at all Emirates lounges across the airline's global network. Its luxurious amenities include: 5 shower rooms: 7 rest rooms; 106 cream leather lounge couches; a dining area with 65 seats; two 70-inch Plasma TVs; Wi-Fi; and male and female prayer rooms. Guests can also enjoy an extensive menu of hot and cold gourmet dishes, created by our chefs as well as a full bar service, supported by a team of dedicated lounge staff.
Coupled with Emirates' complimentary chauffeur drive service in Shanghai for First and Business Class passengers, dedicated check-in counters, as well as award winning on-board service, the airline's premium customers enjoy a seamless and comfortable journey from the moment they start their travel until they arrive in their destination. In addition, Chinese passengers can also look forward to tailor-made in-flight services such as Chinese dishes, as well as a wide variety of movies - including over 75 Chinese-language movies and more than 540 Hollywood movies with Chinse sub-titles. Chinese-speaking crew are also present in all Emirates flights to and from China.
In addition to Shanghai, and the seven lounges at its hub in Dubai International Airport, Emirates also has dedicated lounges in 33 major airports including Auckland, Bangkok, Beijing, Birmingham, Boston, Brisbane, Cairo, Cape Town, Colombo, Delhi, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Glasgow, Hamburg, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Los Angeles, Manchester, Melbourne, Milan, Munich, New York - JFK, Paris - Charles de Gaulle, Perth, Rome, San Francisco, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo - Narita and Zurich, representing a total investment of nearly US$ 400 million.
The Emirates Lounge caters to passengers on Emirates' two non-stop daily flights operating between Shanghai and Dubai, EK305 and EK303, departing at 0615hrs and 2300hrs, respectively.
