For the second year in a row, the ACI's Airport Service Quality (ASQ) program voted Sheremetyevo the best airport in Europe in the 40 million passenger and up category in 2019. The ASQ Awards ceremony will be held in September as part of the third Global Summit of the Airport Council International (ACI) in Kraków, Poland.

Since 2012, Sheremetyevo Airport has repeatedly led the rating of the best airports in Europe in terms of quality of service - across the continent as a whole and in categories corresponding to passenger traffic.

"The Airport Service Quality Awards represent the highest possible recognition for airport operators around the world and recognize excellence in customer experience. The awards this year have been won by a diverse group of winning airports from around the world which illustrates the industry-wide commitment to delivering exceptional customer experience. Delivering a better customer experience is an important business strategy in an increasingly competitive airport industry. ACI's global ASQ programme is the only one that not only recognises excellence but also provides airports with objective measurement and benchmarking to help drive their performance. We are pleased to note that the five winning airports in the category of 'Best airport by size and region (under two million passengers per year in Europe)', are all first-time winners of an ASQ award",  ACI World Director General Angela Gittens said.

The high quality passenger service in Sheremetyevo is achieved through the modern infrastructure development, an effective management system, the innovative technologies introduction, solutions and services. The airport continues the comprehensive development of a barrier-free environment and the creation of specialized infrastructure for passengers with reduced mobility.

Sheremetyevo was awarded a number of prestigious Russian and international industry awards following the results in 2019 for success in infrastructure development, punctuality of flights and a high customer service level.
