A plane from the Ecuadorian company Icaro ran off the runway on Sep. 22 with 64 passengers aboard and two crew members in the airport of Mariscal Sucre from Quito, without injury, Icaro said.
The commercial plane, colored on yellow and known as "canary one," was traveling from Quito to El Coca in the province of Orellanda, when it reported an emergency at 11:30 a.m. local time (16:30GMT).
The airport's authorities activated a security system to remove the plane and to evacuate the passengers who were not injured.
The plane destroyed help radio antennas, airport director Rene Estrella said.
"The accident occurred when the plane was taking off to the city of El Coca," Icaro representative Edy Gongora said.
Because of the accident the operations at the Marical Sucre airports were suspended for more than three hours, because the landing and help tools were destroyed.
