JAL Plane Stranded on Narita Runway
Nov. 16, 2008
On Nov. 16, a Japan Airlines passenger plane became stuck on the runway shortly after landing at Narita airport from Kuala Lumpur in early morning, airport officials said.
Flight 724 came to halt and was unable to proceed at around 6:35 a.m. near a taxiway and had to be towed to a point where passengers and crew could safely alight.
The airport authorities closed down the B runway for 45 minutes following the incident, which they suspect was caused by a gear malfunction.
