A small passenger aircraft undershot the runway at an airport in central Philippines on the morning of Jan. 11, wounding at least three people, the aviation authority said.
The MA-60 aircraft of domestic airline Zest Airways, with 25 passengers and staff on board, hit the runway barrier before touching down at Caticlan airport at 6:57 a.m. local time (22:57GMT), Ben Ciron, director general of the country's Civil Aviation Authority.
Two children and one crew member suffered minor injuries, he said.
Caticlan airport is the major gateway to the archipelago's most popular tourist island Boracay. The accident caused temporary closure of the airport, forcing airlines to redirect tourists-packed flights to Kalibo airport, some two hours' drive from Caticlan.
