SIA Engineering said its third quarter net profit rose 17.5 per cent to S$63 million. At the same time, revenue rose 8.6 per cent to S$270 million.

SIA Engineering saw higher earnings from maintenance services and a large turnkey retrofitting project.

Going forward, SIA Engineering said it is cautious about its outlook for the coming quarters.

It said slowing travel demand has caused volumes to drop at its maintenance and repair business as airlines trim capacity.

The company expects its performance to be impacted until the economic situation improves.

To cope with the downturn, SIA Engineering said it will manage its costs and improve productivity.
