From January 16, the German Lufthansa website www.lufthansa.com is offering two new, attractive services. With the "betterFly" podcasts - entertaining, informative items in a digital audio format - passengers can quickly and easily download the most important information about attractive destinations onto their own mp3 player. The "Fanflug" sports portal contains a wealth of fascinating background information about sports highlights worldwide. The most important sports events are also integrated into the fan calendar. All available flights to the sports event of your choice with the lowest possible fares are now just a mouse click away.
- Lufthansa's Most Frequent Destinations in 2006[Jan. 12, 2007]
Lufthansa turned in another record year in 2006. The airline carried more than 53 million passengers, it's about 400 aircraft took off and landed more than 640,000 times at diverse destinations. But where did those planes fly most often? At the very top of the list are Frankfurt and Munich. More than 115,000 flights were operated to each of those airports in the past year - an average of about 315 landings, daily. Next on the list in 2006 is Duesseldorf with about 38,000 landings followed by Hamburg with about 28,000, Berlin with about 21,000 and Stuttgart with about 19,000.

On January 18, Airbus has delivered A320 manufacturing serial number 3000 (MSN3000) to Asia's largest low cost carrier, AirAsia. The official handover to Dato' Tony Fernandes, Group Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia by Louis Gallois, Airbus President and CEO, and co-CEO of EADS, took place at a ceremony held at Airbus' new Henri Ziegler delivery centre in Toulouse, France.

The Bush administration is checking the accuracy of a watch list of suspected terrorists banned from traveling on airliners in the US and will probably cut the list in half, the head of the Transportation Security Administration said on January 17.
