- JSSI Reaches 10,000th Asset Milestone at EBACE[May 22, 2013]
Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI), the leading provider of hourly cost maintenance programs for the business aviation industry, enrolled the 10,000th asset onto its maintenance program today at the 2013 European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE). Air King Jet, a Geneva-based private flight operation, enrolled its new Global 6000 Rolls-Royce BR710A2-20 engines onto the JSSI Platinum Program and added coverage for the Honeywell APU, reaching the new 10,000th asset milestone.

Cessna Aircraft Company, a Textron Inc. company, announces the first production flight of its Turbo Skylane 182 JT-A took place yesterday at the company's facility in Independence, Kan. The aircraft has the distinction of being the first modern single engine aircraft powered by a piston engine specifically designed to run on Jet-A fuel.
- EAN to Represent Gulfstream in Nigeria[May 23, 2013]
Lagos-based Evergreen Apple Nigeria (EAN), the first fully integrated FBO, maintenance and hangar facility for business jets to open at Murtala Mohammed Airport, announced today at EBACE 2013 that it has signed a representation agreement with Gulfstream Aerospace (a General Dynamics Company). Under the terms of the agreement, EAN will promote the sale of new and used Gulfstream aircraft within Nigeria. As a Gulfstream representative, EAN will also be tasked with seeking and developing profile-raising opportunities for Gulfstream, will advise Gulfstream about prospects' individual requirements and will provide feedback about Nigerian business aviation activity. EAN's CEO/MD Segun Demuren will be managing the relationship and facilitating communication between Gulfstream, EAN and customers.

- Embraer and SkyWest Inc. Sign a Contract for 40 Firm E-Jets[May 21, 2013]
Embraer and SkyWest Inc. (SkyWest) announced a firm order, today, for 40 Embraer 175 aircraft. SkyWest will operate the aircraft under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA) with United Airlines. Another 60 firm orders are reconfirmable aircraft, which are subject to SkyWest being awarded CPA agreement contracts with major U.S. airline partners. In addition to that, the agreement includes options for another 100 E175s, taking the total order potential up to 200 airplanes.
- Embraer Executive Jets Sells Lineage 1000[May 21, 2013]
Embraer Executive Jets announced today at the 13th European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE), the sale of an ultra-large Lineage 1000, to an undisclosed European client, operated by FLYINGGROUP. The aircraft, the first Lineage 1000 sale to a customer in Belgium, will join the Belgium-based company's fleet and will be available for third-party charter. Delivery of the aircraft is scheduled for the second half of 2013.

- AfBAA Plans African Business Aviation Expo[May 21, 2013]
Marking a year of rapid growth since its launch at EBACE 2012, the African Business Aviation Association (AfBAA; Booth 2135) announced here at EBACE 2013 that it would stage a business aviation expo of its own next April in conjunction with the Marrakech Air Show. The expo and air show will be held on April 23 to 26 at Marrakech's FRA Airport. AfBAA's expo will cover 50,000 sq m (540,000 sq ft), providing room for booths, static displays and chalets.
- EBACE Kick-off Addresses Business Aviation Challenges[May 21, 2013]
Few punches were pulled as speakers took on the challenges facing business aviation in Europe at the opening session of EBACE 2013 yesterday morning, with government policies, outdated infrastructure and the slack economy the primary targets. Hosted by Fabio Gamba, CEO of the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), speakers included NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen; Patrick Ky, managing director, SESAR JU (Single European Sky ATM Research program Joint Undertaking); Daniel Weder, CEO of air navigation service provider Skyguide; and -- via recorded video message -- Siim Kallas, vice president of the European Commission and its Commissioner for Mobility and Transport.
