China Aviation Daily | Oct. 21, 2015

Brazilian manufacturer Embraer unveiled the first prototype of its E190-E2 on Tuesday, which is now entering the final assembly process in Sao Paulo.

The E-Jet E2, Registration PR-ZEY, is seen resting on struts, with completed fuselage and wings. Painted in Embraer's blue, yellow and grey livery, the aircraft is without its Pratt & Whitney PW1900G geared turbofan engines. The horizontal stabilizer is also yet to be attached.

About 400 people from 50 airlines and leasing companies, as well as 40 suppliers and trading partners visited Embraer headquarters in São José dos Campos on Tuesday, Oct. 20, getting firsthand views of the painted fuselage, the manufacturer announced via its Facebook page.

The E190-E2 is scheduled to be delivered in the first half of 2018, before entering into service in 2019. This will be followed by the E175-E2 in 2020.

The Brazilian manufacturer said EJetsE2 program reinforces its commitment to continuously invest in the commercial jets line, and maintain market leadership in the segment of 70-130 seats, in which the EJets hold over 50% market share in orders and 60% in deliveries.

Currently, the EJets operate with 70 airlines in some 50 countries.
