China Southern Airlines (CZ) officially launched Guangzhou-Anchorage-Chicago-Tianjin-Guangzhou cargo flight on Thursday morning.
The inaugural flight, operated using a Boeing 777-200F, took off from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport (CAN) at 6:52 a.m.
There will be two flights weekly scheduled to take off from Guangzhou at 4:00 a.m. every Thursday and Sunday and arrive in Chicago at 8:40 p.m. on the same day, according to the airline.
Currently, China Southern operates eight freight routes out of Guangzhou to 12 destinations across the world, with 22 cargo flights per weekly.
