Malaysia Airlines (MH) unveiled a new generation A330-300 Business Class Cabin at the World Travel Market in London on Monday, featuring 27 innovative flat-bed seats.
The flag carrier is scheduled to fly the first A330-300 jets with the new seats starting next April. Australia and Asia will be the primary markets, the airline said in a statement.
With 43-inch seat pitch, the new seats will feature a fully flat bed, providing superb space, privacy and flexibility for passengers to work, play and sleep. Unlike the existing product, which features a 2-2-2 configuration, the new seats will be arranged in a 1-2-1 and 1-2-2 layout, ensuring that 90 percent of seats have direct aisle access.
Each seat is equipped with a Panasonic 16-inch touch screen inflight entertainment system. It will also feature a power outlet, USB port and reading light.
Upon completion of the retrofitting works, the aircraft will have 290 seats across two classes: 27 business and 263 economy seats. Each A330 will sport 27 business class seats, down from the existing 36.
Malaysia Airlines plans to refit all of its 15 A330-300 aircraft with the new seats by September 2016.
