China Southern Seeks Rights for Moscow and Brisbane Services

China Southern Airlines has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for permissions to launch two international services to Moscow, Russia and Brisbane, Australia according to an announcement released Monday on the official website of CAAC.
Subject government approval, the Guangzhou-based carrier plans to launch Guangzhou-Changsha-Moscow service in this December; while it will launch a Shenzhen-Brisbane service in November 2016.
China Southern will operate the Moscow thrice weekly, using Airbus A330-200/A330-300 or Boeing 787 Dreamliner; while the Shenzhen-Brisbane service will be operated on a daily basis, using A330-200/A330-300 or Boeing 787/777-300ER aircraft.
Brisbane would become China Southern's second Australian destination from Shenzhen, following Sydney. The airline previously applied for permission to launch a daily Shenzhen-Melbourne service in September, using Airbus A330/Boeing 778/777-300ER aircraft.
The Air Transportation Department of CAAC is soliciting public comments on the application until September 20, 2016.
