China Eastern Transports 2.17 Million Passengers During Spring Festival Holiday

During the week-long Chinese Lunar New Year holiday on January 27 to February 2, China Eastern Airlines handled over 2.17 million passengers and 16,388 aircraft takeoffs and landings.
In order to meet the increasing travel demands, the Shanghai-based carrier has increased 9 percent more flights during the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush.
China Eastern said earlier that it was scheduled to operate up to 99,000 flights totally during the 40-day travel season. Up to now, the airline has operated over 50,100 flights in the first 15 days of Spring Festival travel rush, up 13 percent over last year.
