The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said Tibet Airlines and Chongqing Airlines will not be allowed to file for new route applications, frequency additions or add charter services, effective October 21.
Similarly, the aviation watchdog is also blocking any additional flights out of Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, citing poor on-time performance in September. Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Beijing Capital International Airport and Nanjing Lukou International Airport continue to remain under a similar ban.
From November 1, the CAAC will cancel China Eastern Airlines' Shanghai Pudong-Changchun (MU5629) and Shanghai Hongqiao-Beijing (MU5127) services and Sichuan Airlines' Kunming-Xishuang Banna flight 3U8625.
Also from November, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport will release from the ban and be able to resume applications for new services and additional frequencies, after meeting the regulator's requirements.
In the short statement, the regulator stated that the airline and airports must first meet performance targets for two consecutive months, before further flight applications will be accepted.
