On June 13, 2019, the Third China and South Asia Aviation Trends Forum was successfully held in Kunming, China. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced that leaders of the global air transport industry are gathering in Seoul, Republic of Korea, for the 75th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and World Air Transport Summit (WATS). Hosted by Korean Air, and held for the first time in the Republic of Korea, the event is expected to attract more than a thousand top leaders from among IATA's 290 member airlines, their suppliers, governments, strategic partners, international organizations and the media.
- CAAC and COMAC Hold High-level Conference on Safety[May 24, 2019]
On May 9, CAAC and Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) held High-level Conference on Safety in Shanghai. Since 2017, by the Cooperation Program on Safety Support between CAAC and COMAC, the two sides have held high-level conferences on safety on annual basis to constantly enhance communication and collaboration, jointly promote homemade aircraft projects and ensure airworthiness and operation safety of aircraft manufactured in China. The conference this year focused on the mounting production and delivery tasks for ARJ21 aircraft and development and certification of C919. CAAC Deputy Administrator Li Jian and Board Chairman of COMAC He Dongfeng attended the conference.

In order to thoroughly implement the instructions of the 19th CPC National Congress and to better promote and realize high-quality civil aviation development, CAAC recently issued the Framework System for High-quality Civil Aviation Development in China (Trial). The document specified detailed indicators to measure the high-quality development of the civil aviation industry and required departments and entities in the industry to seriously follow those indicators, so that efforts aiming high-quality civil aviation development will be guided, assessed and regulated by the indicator system and high-quality development will be truly realized in the civil aviation industry.
- CAAC and Hainan Provincial Government Hold Meeting on Accelerating Civil Aviation Development and Comprehensive Deepening of Reform and Opening-up[May 24, 2019]
On May 10, CAAC Administrator Feng Zhenglin exchanged views with Hainan Provincial Party Secretary Liu Cigui on civil aviation development in Hainan, and had a meeting with Hainan Provincial Government in Haikou, where the two sides conducted in-depth talks on deepening cooperation between CAAC and Hainan so as to better meet the demand of Hainan for comprehensively deepening reform and opening up. Provincial Governor Shen Xiaoming, Executive Vice Governor Mao Chaofeng and Vice Governor Wang Lu of Hainan attended the meeting.
