On March 10, US aerospace giant Boeing launched an Australian branch of its Phantom Works regarded as one of the world's most advanced research organisations.

Australia's second largest solar power plant will be installed at the roof of the Adelaide Airport's Terminal 1. The solar panels are expected to be completed by June this year.
- South Korea: Air Rage Incidents Climb Despite Tougher Laws[Mar. 20, 2008]
In July 2005, stricter aviation safety rules were put into force in South Korea, doubling the penalties for air rage and allowing stricter measures to deal with unruly airline passengers. Nonetheless, air rage is still on the rise. There were 76 incidents of air rage reported on South Korea's airlines in 2004, and the figure fell to 61 in 2005, showing signs of abating. But air rage reports climbed to 66 in 2006, and to 94 in 2007.

On March 20, United Airlines pulled aside seven Boeing 747s for reinspection after discovering onboard technology that steers the giant aircraft clear of other planes in the air hadn't been maintained according to the Chicago-based airline's standards.

On March 19, Indonesian transport ministry grounded all planes of budget airline Adam Air for incompliance of safety standard, spokesman of the ministry Bambang Erfan said.
- Record-Setting Child Pilot Dead at 26[Mar. 19, 2008]
Pilot prodigy, Victoria "Vicki" Van Meter, 26, who piloted a light aircraft across the US and the Atlantic Ocean at age 11 and 12, respectively, died of an apparent suicide on March 15 at her home in Pennsylvania.
- Delta, United to Ground Aircraft, Slash Domestic Capacity to Counter Slowdown[Mar. 19, 2008]
On Mar. 18, Delta Air Lines (DL) and United Airlines (UA) announced a domestic downsizing to help negotiate rising fuel costs and a slowing US economy, with each carrier planning to ground 15-20 mainline aircraft this year and DL also aiming to slash its workforce by approximately 2,000.
- Germany, Russia Strike Deal on Lufthansa Cargo Hub[Mar. 14, 2008]
Germany and Russia have sealed an accord on moving Lufthansa Cargo's regional transit hub from Astana in Kazakhstan to Krasnoyarsk in Siberia, the transport ministry in Berlin said on Mar. 14.

- Troubled Adam Air Grounded by Indonesian Authorities[Mar. 20, 2008]
Indonesia's transport ministry, as expected, grounded low-fare carrier Adam Air over safety issues following an incident last week when a 737-400 skidded off the runway at Batam Island's Hang Nadim Airport, injuring five of the 176 passengers and crew onboard.
