Air China will issue a credit card co-branded with Bank of China at the end of this month. Both are partners of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

US Transportation Secretary Mary Peters said earlier during a Chinese tour that the US is seeking an "open skies" agreement with the world's most populous nation similar to the recently agreed US-EU accord and hopes to have "the basic framework" for a deal in place next month.

Xiamen Airlines is negotiating with Boeing to order 25 737-800s valued at US$2.1 billion, with the aircraft to be delivered in the 2011-13 timeframe if a deal can be reached.

Ameco Beijing, an aircraft maintenance joint venture between Air China and Lufthansa, said it will sign an engine overhaul contract with US-based Ryan International Airlines on April 18.

On April 12, 2007, UPS and the Shanghai Airport Authority conducted a formal signing ceremony in another step toward construction of the UPS International Air Hub at Pudong International Airport in Shanghai. Presiding over the ceremony were U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters and Vice Mayor of Shanghai Yang Xiong.
