On 25th September, Hong Kong-based CR Airways officially launched Hong Kong-Tianjin non-stop direct services on a daily basis.
- CAL Earns Another Corporate Governance Award[Sep. 22, 2006]
China Airlines was selected as one of the top three companies in Taiwan by the Corporate Governance Asia Annual Recognition Awards 2006, an event held by Corporate Governance Asia magazine. Other Taiwanese companies on the list were TSMC and AU Optronics Corp. This is the second year that CAL was rated by international media as the best company in Taiwan for corporate governance.
- CAL Builds Large Complex at Taoyuan Airport[Sep. 20, 2006]
On 20th September, a newly chartered company and Taiwan's Civil Aeronautics Administration signed a contract to construct a large Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project at Taoyuan International Airport. The project, called "Taoyuan International Airport Airlines Operation Center," spans 50 years, including three years for construction, and the remaining 47 years for operations. In the future, China Airlines will move its Corporate Head Office and its Crew Training and Dispatch Center to the new location, where it will also operate a new world-class airport hotel. CAL anticipates its relocation to the Taoyuan International Airport area after 2009.
- Cathay Pacific to Resume Shanghai Services[Sep. 25, 2006]
On 25 September, Cathay Pacific Airways announced that, subject to government approvals, Shanghai will return to the airline's passenger network in December with a daily return service between Hong Kong International Airport and Shanghai's Pudong International Airport. The introduction of the service follows a recent decision by the Hong Kong authorities to grant the airline traffic rights to fly passengers to Mainland China's most important commercial hub.

Lucky Air, a subsidiary of Hainan Aviation Group - the parent company of Hainan Airlines, has announced the airline sets to offer limited super low fare one-way tickets priced at 68 yuan each (exclusive of taxes and levies) on its Kunming-Chengdu services between 26th and 28th September.
