- SilkAir to Reduce Fuel Surcharges[Jan. 29, 2007]
Following a decline in jet fuel prices in recent weeks, SilkAir will reduce its fuel surcharge for tickets issued on or after Tuesday, January 30, 2007:
- Qantas, Pacific Airlines Talks Confirmed[Jan. 26, 2007]
Qantas is in talks to buy a stake in Vietnam's second-largest carrier, Pacific Airlines, which is transforming itself into a low-cost airline, a Pacific Airlines official says.
- ATR Turnover Grows 30% in 2006[Jan. 25, 2007]
On the occasion of the ATR annual press conference, which took place in Paris on January 25, Filippo Bagnato, ATR CEO has announced a turnover of US $700 million in 2006, a growth of about 30% compared to the previous year (US $542 million revenues in 2005, based on IAS standard). 2006 has confirmed the strong recovery of the turboprop market already experienced in 2005.
- TRIP Orders 12 New ATR 72-500 Aircraft[Jan. 25, 2007]
On January 25, the Brazilian airline TRIP Linhas Aereas (Transportes Regionais do Interior Paulista) and ATR unveiled a contract for 7 new ATR 72-500 aircraft plus 5 options for ATR 72-500 signed on the 22nd December 2006 in Campinas (Brazil). The firm aircraft order, of a total value of US $125 million, has been inked between Jose Mario Caprioli Dos Santos, TRIP CEO, and Filippo Bagnato, ATR CEO.
- United Airlines Reports US$25 Million Profit[Jan. 24, 2007]
Emerging from bankruptcy in February 2006, United Airlines has posted a net profit of $25 million for the first 11 months until 31 December 2006. This figure represents an improvement of $423 million, excluding reorganisation items.
- MNG Airlines Commits for A330 Freighter[Jan. 23, 2007]
Following the industrial launch of the A330 Freighter on January 17, 2007, MNG Airlines, a Turkish cargo operator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for two A330-200F plus one option. The Istanbul-based carrier herewith becomes a launch customer for the new Airbus freighter.

Listed Macquarie Bank offshoot Macquarie Airports (MAp) is eyeing a bigger stake in Sydney Airport after the airport's holding company reported a 16 per cent surge in December quarter earnings.

A combination of higher landing revenues, retail growth and passenger traffic boosted Sydney Airport's first half underlying profit by 12.5 per cent.
- Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise Gives Up on Pegasus Aviation Finance[Jan. 25, 2007]
Singapore Aircraft Leasing Enterprise, a Bank of China unit, said it won't buy Pegasus Aviation Finance Co, passing up on an opportunity to expand its aircraft leasing business in the United States.
- Aircastle to Buy 38 Aircraft[Jan. 23, 2007]
Leasing group Aircastle will buy 38 aircraft worth US$1.6 billion from Guggenheim Aviation. The deal includes 12 freighters, of which 11 are 747-400 aircraft and one MD-11SF. The remaining 26 aircraft are passenger aircraft.
