On December 12, Boeing announced that Guggenheim Aviation Partners, LLC (GAP), the U.S.-based aviation investment firm, acting on behalf of one of its investment funds, has ordered three Boeing 777 Freighters, with an option to purchase one additional airplane.

Zurich-based VVIP charter company Comlux has taken delivery of the first Airbus A318 Elite - one of three on order - which will make it the first to operate the type.
- Boeing Announces 17 Percent Dividend Increase[Dec. 11, 2006]
On December 11, the Boeing Company announced that the company's Board of Directors has approved an increase of 17 percent to the company's quarterly dividend. The increase lifts the company's quarterly dividend to 35 cents per share and its annual dividend to $1.40 per share.

On December 7, Embraer announces that Colombia's stateowned SATENA took delivery of its first EMBRAER 170 jet in a ceremony held at Embraer's Gaviao Peixoto Unit in the State of Sao Paulo, Brazil. The event was attended by SATENA's General Manager, General Hector Campo Plata; the Colombian Air Force official representative, Major General Ricardo Rubianogrott; Embraer's Chairman, President and CEO Maurlcio Botelho and Executive Vice-President for the Defense and Government Market Luiz Carlos Aguiar, among others.

Japan Airlines Corp will sell off six of its hotels and other assets to counter its losses in the airline business so it can stay in the black this year, sources said on December 7.
- Lufthansa Further Expands Airbus 340-600 Long-range Fleet[Dec. 07, 2006]
Lufthansa German Airlines is expanding its Airbus long-range fleet with an order for seven additional Airbus A340-600 aircraft. The new order raises the total number of A340s in Lufthansa's fleet to 52. With this order Airbus passes the milestone of 1000 aircraft sales of the A330/A340 Family, reconfirming its strong position in this market segment.
- Boeing, First Choice Airways Sign Order for Two Additional Boeing 787s[Dec. 06, 2006]
On December 6, the Boeing Company confirmed that UK-based carrier and integrated-tour operator First Choice Airways has ordered an additional two Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners with deliveries beginning in 2011. This order previously was listed on Boeing's Orders and Deliveries webpage attributed to an unidentified customer.
- Boeing, Lufthansa Announce Order for 747-8 Intercontinental[Dec. 06, 2006]
On December 6, the Boeing Company and Deutsche Lufthansa AG announced the carrier ordered 20 747-8 Intercontinental jetliners plus 20 purchase rights. Lufthansa is the first airline to place an order for the passenger version of the fuel-efficient airplane.
