American Airlines will make a bid to fly a new non-stop daily route between Chicago and Beijing in 2009, the company announced on June 29. Under a Sino-US aviation deal signed in May, US carriers can add four daily roundtrip flights between the United States and China in 2009.

Dragonair has been appointed as the Official Carrier for the "Pride of China: Masterpieces of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy of the Jin, Tang, Song and Yuan Dynasties from the Palace Museum" exhibition, taking on the role of transporting world-acclaimed masterpieces of Chinese art from Beijing to Hong Kong. The exhibition is being organised as part of the celebrations to mark the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It will be opened to public starting from June 29.
